Maiori Alleys and Culture

In the weekends of July, cultural walks and musical performances in the alleys and in the squares of the historical center. At the end meetings with the author and tastings of typical products.

 

Celebration of Santa Maria a Mare

On August 15th is the patronal feast of Maiori. The Assumption Madonna is carried in procession through the streets of the town, on the beach and returns to the Collegiate church running up the Scala Santa. At midnight a great fireworks display on the sea.

In September, in the ancient Casale dei Cicerali, music and gastronomy evoke past atmospheres and ancient folk traditions

In September, the typical Majorcan specialty is celebrated in a thousand delicious variations

 

Roberto Rossellini Award in Maiori

In the mid-50s Roberto Rossellini had a real “Maiorese period” from which were born masterpieces such as “Paisà”, “Love”, “the Ammazzacattivi Machine”, “Journey to Italy” After half a century the Association Maiori Film Festival pays tribute to the maestro with a three-day projection, Cinema Seminars, directed by Renzo Rossellini, debates and the grand prize-giving gala
